About ChessMarshal
Tournament management for chess clubs.
ChessMarshal is a tournament-management platform built for the people who actually run chess events: club tournament directors, scholastic coaches, regional federation organizers. We handle the unglamorous pipeline from registration to pairings to public scoreboard to rating-report submission, so clubs can spend their time on the chess and their players, not on software.
ChessMarshal is made by Reckoned Force LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Colorado, USA. ChessMarshal is our own product and brand. The name and logo are owned by Reckoned Force LLC.
What we're building
- Swiss, Round Robin, Knockout, Match, and other pairing systems, with the tiebreak orderings that real federations actually use.
- Public scoreboards with live standings, byes, per-player history, and an embeddable widget for clubs that already run a WordPress site.
- Online registration with Stripe Connect, so player payments flow directly to the club's bank account.
- US Chess and (planned) CFC rating reports generated and validated before submission, plus a browser helper that pre-flights the file against the federation's upload form.
- Grand Prix series tracking, certificates, and AI-drafted social announcements at event close.
- Federation-agnostic from the ground up. We started with USCF and are adding adapters for CFC, FIDE, and AICF rather than hardcoding one federation.
The WordPress plugin
Many chess clubs already run a WordPress site. The ChessMarshal plugin (on the WordPress.org plugin directory) lets those clubs embed their ChessMarshal tournament pairings, standings, and scoreboard directly into their existing pages with a shortcode. The plugin is published and maintained by Reckoned Force LLC, the same entity that operates this site.
